Rider supported by Frutas Patrícia Pilar takes first Rally 2 victory of 2025

Bruno Santos delivered a brilliant performance today, claiming his first Rally 2 win of 2025 in Stage 3 of the bp Ultimate Rally Raid Portugal. The stage featured a 308 km special held in a loop format with start and finish in Badajoz. With two days remaining in the Portuguese round of the World Rally Raid Championship (W2RC), Bruno Santos remains on the overall podium in his category.

“Today was the second day in Badajoz and an excellent one for me. I won the stage in my category, ahead of Edgar Canet, by just one second. It was a very competitive day. I’m climbing into the overall top ten, with less and less dust and the chance to push through the stages. Today’s route demanded a lot of riding, with the bike constantly sliding. The special was very beautiful and fast — over 300 km of high speed, alternating with more technical sections. It was very tough on the tyres: halfway through, many riders had their rear tyres destroyed. I rode half the special without a rear tyre. Handling was difficult, cornering was tough. It was a real challenge. I’m very satisfied with the result. Tomorrow we cross into Portugal. We’ll have the Portuguese fans supporting us along the tracks, just as they have so far. We’ll finish the day in Lisbon, where the public will be able to visit the bivouac, experience the race environment up close, and see the best in the world compete,” explained the Rally 2 category winner of last year’s bp Ultimate Rally Raid Portugal, who is supported by Frutas Patrícia Pilar and Momento TT, and who debuted his Husqvarna FR450 Rally in this year’s event.

Tomorrow brings the fourth and penultimate stage of the bp Ultimate Rally Raid Portugal, taking the caravan from Badajoz to Lisbon. The selective section, the fifth of this edition, will cover 274 km. On this day, the bivouac will be set up at Doca de Pedrouços in Belém, Lisbon.
