bp Ultimate Rally Raid Portugal 2025: Remarkable debut of Pedro Bianchi Prata’s 100% electric bike in the W2RC
A pioneering project makes history on Portuguese soil at the World Rally-Raid Championship
Pedro Bianchi Prata, a rider with an impressive list of achievements and an undeniable reference in both national and international motorcycling, has written a new page of history at the bp Ultimate Rally-Raid Portugal. For the very first time, a fully electric motorcycle has completed an entire Rally-Raid event — and not just any rally, but one counting towards the W2RC – World Rally-Raid Championship.
“It was really tough, many days of effort and hard work, and above all an inner battle between pushing hard and managing the batteries — making sure I reached the points where battery swaps had to be made. It was a huge challenge, not only for the bike, but also for me and for the whole team who worked with me on this project. They actually drove more kilometers than I did to reach those swap points and ensure everything went smoothly,” explained Pedro Bianchi Prata.
“The rally itself was spectacular, very well organized. ACP has once again proven that it is one of the very best organizers in the world — if not the best. I’m really happy with this outcome. I believe we showed that electric motorcycles also have a place in our sport, they also belong in Rally-Raid. To reach the finish without a single crash, without a single problem, without any mechanical issue at all… that feels fantastic,” emphasized the rider, whose career is already full of titles but who continues to challenge himself and push boundaries.
“It’s truly emotional to make history — to ride the first 100% electric bike to finish a Rally-Raid in its entirety, with no shortcuts, nothing different from the other competitors. Thank you to Moeve for believing in this project. Now the future will tell where we go from here.”
The project “100% Electric Bike – Powered by MOEVE” was designed to demonstrate the viability, toughness, and competitiveness of electric mobility in extreme environments — and the bp Ultimate Rally-Raid Portugal 2025 was the perfect stage.
