The Cierzo Rally – Ejército de Tierra once again brought the Spanish Cross-Country Rally Championship (CERTT GT2i) to Zaragoza, reaffirming itself as one of the toughest and most spectacular events on the national calendar.

With the support of the Spanish Army, who once more opened the gates of the San Gregorio Training Grounds for the first stage, the rally lived up to its reputation: a brutal test where navigation is just as decisive as speed. On these punishing tracks, one small mistake can cost precious minutes.

But Santiago Carnicer and Sergio Peinado were flawless. The reigning champions stamped their authority by setting the fastest times on every single special stage, claiming their second victory of the season and securing the championship lead heading into the grand finale in Cuenca.

Close behind, Luis Recuenco and Dakar star Daniel Oliveras made an impressive debut with their brand-new Toyota Hilux T1+ Evo, finishing just 25 seconds shy of the win after more than 330 km against the clock. Rounding out the podium, Fidel Castillo and Raquel Cecilia overcame early troubles in SS2 to clinch third overall and the win in T4.

In T3, Jesús Fuster and Portuguese co-driver Fausto Mota stormed to victory with a fourth-place overall finish, while Federico Mogni and David Jesús Nieto completed the top five.

The Spanish Cross-Country Rally Cup for Regularity delivered drama until the very end. Alfonso Javier González and Albert Casabona emerged victorious, followed by Javier Foix / Xavier Juncosa in second and Rafael / Asier Perdiguero in third after a tightly-fought contest.

The trophies were just as hotly contested:

  • T1 glory for Julián Regidor / Sonia Ledesma

  • T2 victory and championship crown for Lluis Josep Rodríguez / Fernando Giménez

  • T1N win for Laura Bonillo / Miguel García, with Bonillo also crowned Best Female Driver

  • Rosa María Delicado named Best Female Co-Driver

  • SSV Open triumph for Christian Babler / Ricardo Ranero

  • SSV-Series victory for Francisco Cima / Anna Tallada

  • T8 (Historic Vehicles) win for Ángel Giménez / Anais Soriano

The curtain will fall on the 2025 CERTT GT2i on October 3-4, when the Rallye TT Cuenca hosts the final showdown of the season.
