Engines will once again take center stage in Aragón as the 6th Cierzo Rally Ejército de Tierra rolls out from September 5 to 7, 2025. The event, part of the Spanish Cross-Country Rally Championship (CERTT) and the RFEDA–FPAK Iberian Trophy, brings a historic twist this year: for the very first time, motorcycles will be part of the competition.

The rally will unfold across the municipalities of Alfajarín, Osera, Villafranca de Ebro, La Puebla de Alfindén and María de Huerva, while also running through Pina de Ebro and the military training grounds at San Gregorio. “It is important that within the city we recognize the opportunity of having both cars and motorcycles competing so close to the fans,” said Zaragoza’s sports councilor, Félix Brocate, during the official presentation.

With the addition of motorcycles, the rally strengthens its position as a landmark event on the national calendar. Competitors in the CERTT will face more than 329 kilometers of timed racing, while those entered in the T8 Trophy and the Regularity Cup will take on 218.7 kilometers. “We will be seeing the top contenders of the Spanish championship in action,” noted Ánchel Echegoyen, vice president of the Royal Spanish Automobile Federation, who highlighted the level of competition expected this year.

The event will open on Friday, September 5, with technical and administrative checks in Zaragoza for the cars and in Pina de Ebro for the motorcycles. Later that afternoon, the prologue will determine the starting order for the first stage, with motorcycles setting off at 2 p.m. and cars following at 3 p.m. The day will end in a festive atmosphere with the official start ceremony in Zaragoza’s iconic Plaza del Pilar, a setting that promises to draw large crowds.

Saturday, September 6, will be the decisive day of the rally. Two timed stages will run from early morning until late afternoon, taking competitors across the Comarca Central, through the vast grounds of San Gregorio, and into the area of Pina de Ebro. The race will wrap up in the evening with the awards ceremony at Puerto Venecia, where drivers, teams and fans will come together to celebrate an edition that already promises to be one of the most memorable in recent years.
