HunGarian Baja 2024: bp Ultimate Adventure Team with historic win at Baja Hungary
Martim Ventura and David Megre finish 1st and 2nd in the Baja World Cup race
The bp Ultimate Adventure Team won a historic victory at Baja Hungary today, as its drivers Martim Ventura and David Megre finished in the top two positions in a Bajas World Cup competition. For the young Martim Ventura, who leads the National Championship in Portugal, this victory comes on his second international trip, while David Megre's second place confirms the excellent performances across borders that enabled him to become runner-up in the Baja World Cup in 2023.
At the controls of a Husqvarna, the young Martim Ventura took a very positive step in Hungary to start building an international career: "I'm very pleased to have achieved this victory and even more so with my bp Ultimate Adventure Team partner David Megre finishing in second place. It's a fantastic podium for the team. This is my second international and I'm enjoying it. I was fifth in Aragón and now I've won. It's really good. Now we're going back to Portugal and working towards winning the national championship," said the young bp Ultimate Adventure Team rider.
David Megre, who raced a Kawasaki, said: "This second place is fantastic. Congratulations to Martim, who always set a very strong pace. My main goal was to pick up points to win the World Cup, where I came very close to the title last year, and I managed to do just that. The race went very smoothly and I'm very pleased with the result," said the bp Ultimate Adventure Team rider at the end of the Hungarian Baja, which took place around the town of Várpalota with Thury Castle as a backdrop.
