Portugal Rally Raid 2025: Entries are open
bp Ultimate Rally Raid Portugal is part of the World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC) for the second year running. The 2025 edition is scheduled to take place from September 22 to 28, covering the tracks of the Alentejo and Ribatejo regions in Portugal, and Extremadura in neighboring Spain, making this a truly Iberian event
The Automóvel Club de Portugal (ACP) is in charge of organizing the event, which aims to provide an adrenaline-filled experience and unforgettable moments for participants and spectators.
The first few days of the event will be spent in Grandola, which was the host city last year; then the race will move to Badajoz in Spain before returning to Portugal, but this time with the HQ located in Lisbon.
The activities start on September 22 with the technical and administrative checks, which will continue on the 23rd. On this second day, the short 5-kilometer prologue will be held near Grandola.
On the 24th, the race heads south, making a long loop towards the Algarve that will cross the entire Baixo Alentejo region, passing through Ourique, Loulé, Alcoutim, and Almodovar, bringing the competitors back to Grandola at the end of the day after the SS2 and SS3.
The second stage, with an estimated distance of around 500 kilometers, will link Portugal to Spain, traveling towards Coruche, in the Ribatejo region, then Chamusca, Abrantes, and Mação, then heading towards Badajoz, the capital of the Extremadura region in the neighboring country. Before reaching the finish, the competitors will still have to tackle a special stage of around 100 kilometers in the region of Cáceres, north of Badajoz.
The third leg, which includes SS5, will be a single stage of around 300 kilometers, entirely in Spain and partly in the same area as the well-known Baja Extremadura.
Leg 4 will take place on September 27, which will bring the competitors back to Portugal, consisting of SS6 and SS7. The first special stage of the day will take place entirely in Spain and is expected to be 100 kilometers long, while the final SS7, which is expected to be close to 200 kilometers long, will take place entirely in Portugal. On this day, the competitors will be heading for Lisbon, the capital of Portugal.
The final day will take the competitors back to the Ribatejo and Alentejo tracks, close to the capital, where a special stage of just over 100 kilometers awaits them. At the end of the day the caravan will reach the finishing podium in the city of Lisbon.
