Portugal Sets the Pace for an Intense 2026 Rally-Raid Season
The AM|48 Portuguese Off-Road Championship 2026 has its calendar confirmed and promises a demanding, well-balanced season, spread across the year and staged on some of the most iconic off-road venues in the country.
The championship will feature seven rounds, kicking off in late February and running through to the end of November, combining long-established classics with events that continue to strengthen their position within the national off-road scene.
The season opener takes place from 26 February to 1 March with the ESC Online Baja Montes Alentejanos, organised by CPKA, once again launching the championship on the fast and demanding tracks of the Alentejo region. This is followed, from 10 to 12 April, by the Baja TT Castelo Branco, organised by Escuderia Castelo Branco, a traditionally technical and highly selective event.
May brings two consecutive rounds: from 1 to 3 May, the Baja TT North of Portugal, organised by CAMI, takes the championship to the northern trails, while from 22 to 24 May the TH Clothes Raid Ferraria, organised by CCRD Ferraria, returns as a competition that has steadily gained identity and competitive relevance.
After the summer break, the championship resumes from 18 to 20 September with the Baja TT Sharish Gin Reguengos de Monsaraz, organised by SA Reguenguense, before reaching one of the highlights of the season, the BP Ultimate Baja Portalegre 500, held from 15 to 17 October and organised by the ACP, a benchmark event in both national and international off-road motorsport.
The 2026 season concludes from 27 to 29 November with the Baja de Lagos, organised by the Clube Automóvel do Algarve, bringing the championship to the south of the country for a traditionally competitive and decisive finale.
Alongside the national championship, Portugal will once again play a prominent role on the international stage with the BP Ultimate Rally-Raid Portugal 2026, part of the FIA World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC). Created specifically for the world championship in 2024, the event made a very strong first impression and will hold its third edition from 17 to 22 March 2026. As the only European round of the W2RC calendar, the Portuguese rally-raid will usher in the start of spring on the continent, set against the varied and demanding landscapes of the Iberian Peninsula, welcoming the world championship caravan as it heads back to Europe.
