Strong Competitive Pace Secures Top 10 Finish in Second Selective Sector

Nuno Matos and Ricardo Claro took part in the Raid Ferraria last weekend, an event that made its debut this year in the Portuguese Cross-Country Championship (CPTT). The team from Portalegre started the rally with a solid performance in the Prologue, faced a mechanical setback in the first Selective Sector, but ended the competition on a high note with a 9th place overall on the final day.

“It was a weekend of mixed feelings. We had an excellent Prologue and were maintaining a strong pace and feeling confident when a rear suspension arm failure forced us to retire from the first Selective Sector. Fortunately, the team managed to recover our Amarok Proto, which performed brilliantly and was flawless over the 190 km of the final Selective Sector,” said the driver.

The Portuguese Cross-Country Championship will return in September with the Baja TT Sharish Reguengos/Mourão. Until then, the team will be focused on continuing to develop the Amarok Proto and, above all, on consolidating the strong competitive form shown on the last day of the Raid Ferraria.

“Once again, we showed that we have everything it takes to be in the top 10, and that’s fantastic. It’s true that Saturday’s setback hurt us, but the roughly 350 km we covered and the pace we managed to maintain give us encouragement and motivation to keep improving our Amarok Proto during this break until September and come back even stronger,” said Nuno Matos, who also praised Ricardo Claro’s performance and the tireless work of the entire team, both in this event and throughout the season.
