Raid da Ferraria 2025: Portuguese motorcycle and car championships together for the first time at TH Clothes Raid Ferraria
TH Clothes Raid Ferraria is valid for all Portuguese championships
With the great novelty of including the race for the first time in the AM48 Portuguese Cross-Country Championship, run under the auspices of the FPAK, the presentation of the 2025 edition of the TH Clothes XXXVII Raid Ferraria brought together organizers, mayors, sponsors, teams, riders, the media and other guests at the Gavião Business Incubator in a well-attended event.
As well as the Auto competition, this 37th edition of the Alentejo event will continue to be eligible for the National Cross-Country Championship, in the Moto, Quad and SSV categories, and for the National Mini Baja Championship, competitions run under the auspices of the FMP. The excellence of its organization and the layout of the course make the Raid Ferraria a benchmark event on the national off-road scene, which this year has the special support of TH Clothes as its main sponsor.
The TH Clothes Raid Ferraria 2025, organized by the Centro Cultural Recreativo e Desportivo da Ferraria, will cover tracks in the municipalities of Ponte de Sor, Gavião and Abrantes, and its representatives were present at the presentation.
Also present were the winners of the previous round in Castelo Branco: César Sequeira and Filipa Sequeira, in T1 Auto, Gustavo Gaudêncio in Moto, Tomás Paulo in Quad and the duo André Carita / Nuno Abrantes in SSV.
“The strategy we adopted for this, the fourth round of the CNTT, CN Mini Baja and CPTT, was to start work very early on in the race, to properly mark out and prepare the terrain. Basically, we've been working on this edition for a year. We'll do everything we can to make this competition a real success,” said Luís Metela, president of the organizing club: “The race route will be 60% new. We're going to include a new area to the north of the Tagus, in the parish of Belver, which will have a very nice layout. In Ribeira da Venda, we're also going to improve the spectacle zone, in the municipality of Gavião. In Abrantes, there will be three spectator areas in the parishes of Bemposta, Pego and Alvega and Concavada. The race will be centralized in Ponte de Sor. There we'll also have a spectator area, in the Zona Industrial Norte. I'm sure we have everything planned for it to go well and for there to be a lot of support from the riders and the public, which is sorely lacking in these inland areas.”

Luís Metela stressed the fundamental importance of support. “We received support from the Ponte de Sor, Abrantes and Gavião town halls and from TH Clothes, which joined our race. PR Car, a dealer in the area, also supported us, as well as other sponsors that we'll be announcing soon.”
Regarding the integration of the auto competition this year and for the first time in the TH Clothes Raid Ferraria 2025, Luis Metela pointed out that “this area has very beautiful stretches that meet the drivers' tastes. In other years the number of riders entered has been very good and I think it will be the same in the auto competition”.
The president of the organizing club also thanked the respective Federations and gave some advice to the public, asking for “caution. It's very important that you don't take any risks, don't enter sections that are closed. We're going to try as much as possible to have people along the stretch, but we certainly won't be everywhere, so I'd urge you to be careful when passing riders. I'd like to thank the FPAK and the FMP for the way we're treated and for the trust they place in Clube da Ferraria.”
The TH Clothes Raid Ferraria 2025 will have its nerve center in the city of Ponte de Sor. The service park will be located in the city's Municipal Fairs and Markets Park, and the secretariat will be at the Ponte de Sor Arts and Culture Center, where the administrative checks will also take place on the morning of Friday, May 23rd. The technical checks will take place on the same day, also in the morning, at SRC Foros do Domingão. The closed park will be located in Jardim Campo da Restauração, next to Ponte De Sor Town Hall.
In terms of sport, the TH Clothes Raid Ferraria 2025 has a course of 519 km, of which 387 km will be timed, divided into a prologue and two selective sectors. The 7 km prologue will be held on Friday afternoon, in the parish of Pego, in Abrantes, and will be optional for the Mini Baja competition, aimed at the youngest. On Saturday, May 24th, the competitors will face the first 190 km selective sector, which will have a second pass on Sunday. Participants in the MiniBaja competition will face a single 70 km section on Saturday, followed by the prize-giving ceremony in Jardim Campo da Restauração. On Sunday, the final day of the TH Clothes Raid da Ferraria, there will also be a prize-giving ceremony for the other categories in the FMP and FPAK competitions.
