Nuno Matos and Ricardo Claro wrapped up another round of the Portuguese Off-Road Championship this Sunday at the Raid Ferraria, an event marked by demanding trails and the Amarok Proto’s strong performance over more than 400 timed kilometers contested in the municipalities of Abrantes, Ponte de Sor, Mação, and Gavião.

Behind the wheel of the Amarok Proto, the duo from Alentejo once again demonstrated competitiveness and reliability across the various special stages, with a particularly strong performance in the second special stage of the race.

On the final day of competition, the terrain was already quite degraded due to the high number of participants, further increasing the race’s difficulty. A brake issue in the last stage ultimately prevented a potential climb in the standings, but it did not stop the team from taking the Amarok Proto to the finish, ending the Raid Ferraria in 14th place overall and 8th among the T3s.

It was a very demanding race, especially on this last day, with the terrain already badly damaged, but we had a lot of fun in the car and the Amarok Proto was once again flawless, giving us a lot of confidence throughout the entire weekend,” says Nuno Matos, visibly pleased to feel that the work done by the team continues to bear fruit and confirms that the project is on the right track.

The driver also highlights the excellent organization of the event, as well as the strong turnout of spectators along the tracks, extending special thanks to Ricardo Claro, the entire support crew, partners, and sponsors for their continued support of the project.

The team now enters the off-season of the Portuguese Off-Road Championship with renewed motivation and confidence for the upcoming challenges, returning to competition in September at the Baja TT Sharish Gin Reguengos/Mourão.
