...secures first place in Rally 2

Bruno Santos is unstoppable at the BP Ultimate Rally Raid Portugal, showing a pace on a par with some of the best international drivers. The Torres Vedras rider, who is competing in the Portuguese leg of the World Championship on a robust Husqvarna 450 Rally, once again finished on the podium, this time in the third stage of the event, to move up four places in the overall standings, where he now occupies the podium. Bruno Santos, supported by Momento TT, also finished the day in first place in the Rally 2 class, confirming his lead in the category.

The rider started today's fourth selective sector from Grândola to Badajoz in third place and, with a consistent pace and no mishaps, he finished the 373km timed special in 3h31m02s. He now has 6h44m34s at the wheel of the Husqvarna Rally, a completely different machine to the one he is used to driving in the National Off-Road Championship, and is 10m00s behind the race leader.

Visibly satisfied with his performance, Bruno Santos stated clearly at the end of the selective sector: "Today's stage went very much my way. I've made good time so far. I've always managed to ride safely, in a very controlled way. I've had fun and enjoyed today's stage, which was very varied. We had different types of roads, including a very twisty middle section with a lot of navigation in the Mação area. Now we're going to Spain, where the bivouac is. We'll have to do a quick service, we've only got three hours and tomorrow we'll be riding through the Badajoz countryside. I hope it goes as well as today. I'm very happy with the result. Being at the front with the best drivers is one of my objectives," explains the rider about this stage, which was the longest in this first edition of the BP Ultimate Rally Raid Portugal at 615 km.

Tomorrow is the fourth and penultimate stage of the event organised by ACP - Automóvel Clube de Portugal. The fifth selective section, which will take the delegation from Badajoz to Grândola, will cover a total of 541 km, including 288 km of road and 253 km of time trials.
