Rally TT Gualadajara 2026: Ferreira-Palmeiro triumph in the Alcarria mud
The 2026 season of the Spanish GT2i Cross-Country Rally Championship began, for the second consecutive year, in La Alcarria, specifically in Cifuentes, which in recent years has become the permanent host of the Rally TT Guadalajara, an event that this year reached its 11th edition.
As in the previous season, the weather forecast was not good, with cold and rain dominating the entire weekend. Although these conditions gave some relief to teams and fans, they also played an important role in the development of the event.
The official Toyota Gazoo South Africa Dakar driver, João Ferreira, was the winner of the rally at the wheel of his Toyota Hilux T1+, with Filipe Palmeiro alongside him as co-driver. The Portuguese crew secured a hard-fought victory, as the Alcarria event is usually unfavourable for this type of vehicle and, with the accumulated mud, the conditions became even more challenging.
In second place, and as the leading team of the CERTT GT2i, finished Eduard Pons and Cándido Carrera, who also claimed victory in the Challenger category after a strong performance. The overall podium was completed by the Portuguese duo Ricardo Porem and Nuno Sousa.
Jesús Fuster and Joan Rubí debuted the new Taurus of the Nasser Racing Team with a fourth place finish, while Rafael Muñoz and Raquel Cecilia finished fifth and won in the T4 category.
Juan Gasso and Ion del Cid were sixth, with Luis Recuenco, from Cuenca, navigated by Daniel Cámara, finishing seventh overall with their Hilux T1+.
The versatile José Luis García, together with Manuel Navarro, took victory in the T1 category and finished eighth overall, with Cima-Tallada and Caamaño-Moliné completing the top ten.
In the different categories, Jordi Esteve and Marcus Gregory won SSV-Open; Alberto Dorsch and Marcos Martínez won in T2; Maria Luis Gameiro won among the female drivers; and Anna Tallada among the female co-drivers.
In the Spanish Cross-Country Rally Regularity Cup, Fernando García and Xabier Irabien were the winners, followed by Xavier Juncosa — who this season moves into the driver’s seat — and Guillem Godayol in second place, with Darío José García and Andrea Ibarra completing the top three.
In Regularity Sport, a category introduced at this event, the final victory went to Juan Morera and Xavier Ribas.
After this opening round, the CERTT GT2i will move to Andalusia on April 10, 11 and 12 for an event returning to the calendar: the Rally TT Jaén Mar de Olivos.

The event takes place in the La Alcarria region, in the town of Cifuentes, located in the province of Guadalajara, within the autonomous community of Castile-La Mancha, in Spain. The rally is part of the Spanish Cross-Country Rally Championship (CERTT GT2i), the main national off-road championship for cars in Spain. The event is organised by the Motor Club Alcarreño, the entity responsible for the Rally TT Guadalajara, a rally that in recent years has established itself as one of the regular rounds of the Spanish championship.
