TH Clothes Super SSV Alter do Chão 2026: Cunheira confirms trophy growth with intense racing and a high-quality entry list
- Entry list confirms sustained growth of the trophy
- Cunheira delivers a great show on and off the track
After a season opener marked by high pace and minimal time gaps, the TH Clothes Super SSV Trophy 2026 held its second round on April 11 in Cunheira, Alter do Chão, in an event that clearly confirmed both the competitive evolution and the growing status of the trophy.
With 33 drivers on the starting grid, the entry list once again delivered very positive signs—not only in numbers, but above all in quality. Round after round, the trophy continues to establish itself as a serious competitive platform, with increasingly well-prepared teams and a battle for top positions that remains wide open.
The track designed near the village of Cunheira proved particularly well-balanced, combining fast sections with more technical and demanding sectors. For spectators, conditions were equally impressive: a large viewing area with multiple vantage points allowed fans to follow competitors throughout much of the course, with several spectacular sections enhancing the atmosphere throughout the day.
From a sporting perspective, the race reflected this competitive balance. Gonçalo Guerra / André Lopes claimed overall victory and topped the Federated T1 category after a solid performance, though far from comfortable. The final gap to Herlander Araújo / Tiago Leite, second overall and winners in Hobby T1, was just over eight seconds—a clear indication of the intensity throughout the race. The fight for third place was also tight, with Hélder Santos / Fábio Pratas remaining close throughout and completing the podium less than one minute behind the winners, in a race where there was virtually no margin for error.
In the remaining categories, competition was equally strong. In Federated T2, Luís Lourenço / Ana Lopes secured victory with some margin, while the battle for the remaining podium positions stayed alive until the end, with Jorge Cipriano / Pedro Cipriano and Rui Abreu / Gonçalo Guedes completing the top three. In Hobby T1, alongside the already mentioned victory of Herlander Araújo / Tiago Leite, the podium was completed by João Paulo Santos / Letícia Santos and Ricardo Pereira / Sofia Baptista, all showing consistent pace across both race sectors.
In Hobby T2, Carlos Rocha / Rui Sousa took the win, ahead of Mihails Milners and Diogo Francisco / Rogério Marques. There was also a highlight in the Mini Buggy category, where Beatriz Martins / Rui Martins claimed victory ahead of Diana Bento and Duarte Vaz, confirming a competitive and promising grid in this class as well.
At the end of the event, the overall sentiment was unanimous. The local organizers, the promoter, the Portuguese Motorcycling Federation, and all involved entities considered the round a clear success. The Cunheira race reached a high standard, both in terms of competition and public engagement, leaving all stakeholders clearly satisfied.
With two rounds completed, the TH Clothes Super SSV Trophy 2026 is beginning to reveal early trends, while still maintaining full uncertainty regarding future outcomes—a clear sign of a dynamic, competitive, and growing trophy.
The competition continues on May 30 in Viana do Alentejo.
