• Teams from Greece, Italy, Hungary, Poland, and Portugal will take part in the opening round of the 2026 European Baja Cup.
• The race also counts towards the Spanish Cross-Country Rally Championship, the Spanish Motorcycle Championship, and the Castilla-La Mancha Regional Cross-Country Championship.
• Thousands of followers of the European Baja Cup and the Spanish Championship will enjoy the skies of the Serranía de Cuenca, recently designated a Starlight Tourist Destination endorsed by UNESCO.

With just a few days remaining before the official closing of the registration period, the event organizers continue working at full speed in their commitment to delivering an outstanding rally raid.

With less than a month to go before the race begins, the deadline for car entries will close this coming Wednesday, allowing teams to register for both the opening round of the European Baja Cup and the Spanish Cross-Country Rally Championship, where Cuenca will be the third of seven rounds this season. Meanwhile, the registration deadline for motorcycles will close on Friday.

The international and national event will take place across an extensive network of forest tracks, agricultural roads, and livestock trails that define this rich region of Castilla-La Mancha—one of the natural paradises of the country. At the heart of this landscape lies the powerful Serranía de Cuenca, where the Serranía de Cuenca Astronomical Park has recently been designated a Starlight Tourist Destination. This distinction, endorsed by UNESCO, is a mark of sky quality awarded only to locations where the night sky can be observed in its full splendor.

This landscape and its skies will undoubtedly captivate both competitors and the thousands of visitors expected in Cuenca for the rally.

Cuenca is the perfect setting for the opening European round

In this regard, Víctor Alijas, the event organizer, stated: “Drivers, fans, and visitors will enjoy the terrain of Cuenca because it is natural, demanding, and spectacular in equal measure. Few provinces offer such varied terrain and such impressive landscapes, and that makes Cuenca a perfect setting for a rally raid.”

The event is officially sponsored by the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha, the City Council of Cuenca, and the Provincial Council of Cuenca, and will take place from May 7 to 10.
