On July 12th, the historic village of Couço, a legendary name in Portuguese off-road racing, will host the inaugural edition of X-Offroad 2025 — a bold and innovative event created exclusively for classic off-road vehicles. Organized by X-Adventure, this competition aims to bring roaring back to life the iconic machines of the T8, T9, T0, and TA classes — vehicles that, despite their historical and competitive value, have long been sidelined by modern regulations or fading competitiveness.
Reviving the glory days of off-road racing, X-Offroad 2025 adopts a competition format inspired by the Super SSV Trophy. Each competitor will race solo against the clock, in multiple timed runs through a specially designed course. For this debut edition, the stage will span approximately 14 kilometers, offering a fast-paced, flowing route with some water crossings — challenging enough to be thrilling, but carefully engineered to minimize mechanical stress and maximize safety and enjoyment.
More than just a one-off event, X-Offroad 2025 serves as a proving ground for a potential national trophy set to launch in 2026. The vision is clear: to honor and revive the heritage of off-road racing, giving classic vehicles the stage they deserve and rekindling a raw, nostalgic spirit — one that once defined the roots of the sport.
The event is made possible with the support of the Portuguese Federation of Automobilism and Karting (FPAK), whose openness and collaboration were instrumental in bringing this ambitious concept to life. Equally vital has been the backing of local authorities, especially the Municipality of Coruche and the Parish of Couço, whose commitment to motorsport has long been recognized.
Participation is strictly limited to 30 vehicles, and due to the overwhelming interest already shown, the organizers urge all potential entrants to register early to secure their place on the grid.
