By decision of SCORE International President Abelardo Grijalva, Class 1 will be eligible to participate in upcoming qualifyings. Furthermore, they will be integrated into the starting order alongside the other qualifying classes, based on their official qualifying times

ENSENADA, Baja California, Mexico— Surprises continue within the 2025 SCORE World Desert Championship with the inclusion of Class 1 in the qualifying sessions for the 6th SCORE Baja 400 in September. This addition allows them to compete for the pole position in Mexico, as well as to be intermixed according to their qualifying times among the various classes participating in the qualifying for the race starting order.
On September 11th, the qualifying for the SCORE Baja 400 will take place at a private venue in the municipality of Ensenada. Racers from the SCORE Trophy Truck, SCORE Trophy Truck 2WD, SCORE Trophy Truck Legends, Trophy Truck Spec, and Class 1 will compete for their place on the starting grid, in a style similar to Formula 1 or Nascar Series.
Abelardo Grijalva, SCORE International President, implemented changes to the qualifying and starting order policies for the upcoming races of the 2025 SCORE World Desert Championship. He noted that, based on each driver’s qualifying time, different classes may be intermixed, with one-minute intervals between them.
“We aim for SCORE International to always innovate and embrace the challenge of racing in the deserts of the Baja California Peninsula, emphasizing that Class 1 has been a part of this sport and organization for over five decades. This way, they will have better opportunities to compete for the overall win in each of our races, which I think is fantastic,” Grijalva stated.
Race teams that choose not to qualify will start behind those who did qualify, in the following order: SCORE Trophy Truck, SCORE Trophy Truck 2WD, SCORE Trophy Truck Legends, Class 1, and Trophy Truck Spec. The starting intervals for non-qualifiers will be 30 seconds.

EXCLUSIVE CHANGE FOR THE SCORE BAJA 400
Only for the 6th SCORE Baja 400—and not for future SCORE races—teams that did not participate in the BFGoodrich Tires 57th SCORE Baja 500 will be allowed to qualify in the SCORE Baja 400. This will also make them eligible to qualify and race in the BFGoodrich Tires 58th SCORE Baja 1000 in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico.
Teams that do not participate in the SCORE Baja 400 will not be eligible for qualifying in the upcoming SCORE Baja 1000 in November, according to the changes in SCORE qualifying policies.

WHAT’S NEXT
The Round 3 of the 2025 SCORE World Desert Championship, the 6th SCORE Baja 400, will take place from September 10th to 14th in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico. The race will feature over 240 teams from Europe, Oceania, Asia, and the Americas.
A course of 400 miles or more will challenge the race teams, with hopes for the overall winners from the 2024 race—Bryce Menzies in Trucks and cars and Tyler Lynn in motorcycles—to participate.
This off-road race will serve as a prestigious prelude to the BFGoodrich Tires 58th SCORE Baja 1000, also held in “The Cinderella of the Pacific.”
