Today, during the fourth stage of the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge, Buggyra ZM Racing driver Aliyyah Koloc and her co-driver Sébastien Delaunay were involved in an accident 38 kilometers into the stage. As a precaution, Aliyyah Koloc has been transported to the hospital for medical evaluation and will remain under observation for at least one day. There are no indications of serious injury at this time. Sébastien Delaunay was not hospitalized and is unharmed.
The incident occurred while the crew was navigating a high dune at low speed. After reaching the crest, the vehicle encountered unexpectedly soft sand, leading to a loss of stability. The car subsequently rolled down approximately 100 meters and came to a stop in a ditch at the base of the dune.
The team is working to recover the vehicle and transport it back to the bivouac.
Further updates will be provided as the situation develops.
