The 12th edition of Desafío Ruta 40 will be held from June 1st to 7th and will go through the provinces of Córdoba, San Juan and La Rioja, in what promises to be a breathtaking edition, which will also be valid as the fourth round of the 2024 season of the World Rally Raid Championship (W2RC).

Desafío Ruta 40 has already become a highly attractive event for the most important competitors and teams of rally-raid. Furthermore, the race is a great opportunity for the youngest competitors, not only because it is a major competition where they can measure against the top competitors on an international event, but also because the race is part of the Road to Dakar program.

For the second year in a row, Desafío Ruta 40 is also a passport to the Dakar Rally 2025. This time, the South American competition will award a place to the best classified in the SSV category, as long as the necessary requirements are met for the competitor to be eligible (i.e.: the crew has not previously participated in the Dakar in any category; not being part of the Elite / Priority list of FIA and ASO; not having been winners of the Road to Dakar Challenge in the past and not being part of an official team). DR40 will also award valuable points in the bike category.

In 2023, one of the winners of this challenge was the Neuquén rider Santiago Rostan (bikes), who, thanks to his victory in Ruta 40, was able to fulfill his dream of competing in Saudi Arabia last January.

Undoubtedly, Desafío Ruta 40 2024 will be a new chapter in the long history that already brings Argentina and Dakar Rally together. For further information on the registration procedure and the Road to Dakar Challenge, visit: www.desafioruta40.ar/inscripciones-eng/
