115 COMPETITORS WILL BE PART OF DESAFÍO RUTA 40 YPF INFINIA 2024

Only a week to go to the start of the 12th edition of Desafío Ruta 40 YPF INFINIA 2024. The fourth round of the W2RC World Championship, to be held from June 1 to 7 in Córdoba, San Juan, and La Rioja, will feature 115 competitors.

There will be 3,057 kilometers, with 1,792 kilometers of special stages, with the presence of the best competitors in the discipline. In bikes, the competition will be intense with strong champions on the roads and an outstanding presence of manufacturers, since Hero, Honda, Husqvarna, KTM and GasGas will be present for DR40.

Husqvarna Factory Racing will be well represented with the participation of Argentinean Luciano Benavides. The 2023 world champion will compete on national soil wearing the number 1. Desafío Ruta 40 will also signaland also the return to action of the rider from Salta, and also of riders Sam Sunderland and Daniel Sanders (Red Bull GasGas Factory Racing) after they participated in the Dakar last January.

Hero MotoSports Team Rally will arrive in Argentina with four competitors, among them, the current leader of the W2RC Campionship, Ross Branch. It will also bring two great news with South American bonds: the first appearance of Chilean rider Nacho Cornejo, wearing the brand’s colors, and also the team’s first participation in Rally2, represented by Peruvian rider Ramiro Barco Oliva. The Monster Energy Honda Team will have five riders, including the winner of the 2024 Dakar Rally, Ricky Brabec, and the winner of the 2023 Ruta 40, Tosha Schareina.

The Quad competition will also be electrifying with the presence of 17 registered riders. This category has a great history of Argentine champions, and of course, Manu Andujar will be present as one of the most important riders in this category in recent years. The winner of the Dakar Rally 2024 and W2RC champion in 2021, will seek to repeat the victory achieved in DR40 in 2023.

Among the cars, the Qatari driver and local idol Nasser Al Attiyah (Nasser Racing by Prodrive) will also take part. The World Championship leader will be surrounded by great rivals such as Yazeed Al Rajhi (Overdrive Racing), Seth Quinteros (Toyota Gazoo Racing), the Argentinians Juan Cruz Yacopini (Overdrive Racing) and Sebastian Halpern (X-Raid Mini JCW Team); as well as the Baumgart brothers (X Rally Team Motorsports LTDA).

In addition, in the Challenger category, the leader of the W2RC overall, Rokas Baciuska (Can-Am Factory) will be present, together with Argentinian driver Nicolas Cavigliasso (Taurus Factory by Wevers), who will compete in the category that has a large number of entries.
