Formula E driver will race in an UTV with his mother Stéphanie, a Dakar veteran, as the codriver

Sertões BRB, America's biggest rally (August 23rd to 31st) , will once more have a strong international presence, with competitors from five different countries. One of them is a very well known name in auto racing, but will make his debut on off-road racing. Sacha Fenestraz will face a challenge of nine days, eight stages and 3.704 km driving an UTV / SSV.

What makes the ocasion even more special to the Nissan Formula E World Championship driver is the fact that he will have his mother, Stéphanie Fenestraz, as the codriver. While rallies are a completely new universe to the 25-year franco-argentinian, she has two Dakar Rallies in her belt (2008 and 2009, both in South America) and also worked as a helicopter pilot on the event. The desire to compete on open paths, facing gravel, sand and rocks started exactly from that inspiration.

Sacha will command a Can-Am Maverick X3 SSV from Varela Racing team. A squad led by Reinaldo Varela, a Dakar winner on that class and three-time FIA Cross-Country world cup winner.

"I'm excited to announce that I will participate on Sertões Rally with my mother. This is an old dream that is becoming reality, and although it will be completely different from everything I did on auto racing, I believe that we will have so much fun. My main aim is to finish the race to maybe, in the future, think about results", said Sacha.

The 32nd edition of Sertões BRB will start and end in Brasilia, national capital, crossing Goiás, Minas Gerais and Bahia states. Cars, bikes, quads and UTVs will compete on a technical, yet fluid route, in beautiful countryside landscapes.
