Rally Minas 2024: Araxá hosts the 6th Minas Brasil Rally
Next week, from the 15th to the 18th, Minas Gerais will host the next stage of the Brazilian Rally Raid Championship. Drivers and navigators face a high-speed challenge in the middle of the mountains
From Rio Grande do Norte to Minas Gerais! After the RN 1500 (last April), the Brazilian Rally Raid Championship changes accent and scenery with the Rally Minas Brasil, now in its sixth edition. In Araxá, drivers and navigators will compete from May 15 to 18 in three more stages of the 2024 season, covering a total of 665 km.
The support park will be in the parking lot of the Grande Hotel Termas de Araxá, which has an excellent structure for the teams, as well as ease and comfort for the participants who will be staying at the hotel, accompanied by their families. “For the second time we have the hospitality of the Grande Hotel Termas de Araxá, one of the city's main landmarks. The architecture of the place is an eye-catching blend of simplicity and refinement. The service offered to guests provides unparalleled experiences,” said Fernando Bentivoglio, general director of Rallymakers. “That's why we're happy to provide an event in which we deliver a highly technical and competitive rally, and people can still enjoy the leisure of the region at the end of the day,” he added.
The challenges of Minas Gerais
The opening of the race office for the 6th Rally Minas Brasil takes place on the 14th (Tuesday) at 9:30 a.m., followed by the CBA and CBM technical inspections. On the 15th (Wednesday) there will be a shakedown in the morning and, at 2pm, the prologue will begin, which will define the starting order for the first stage of the competition.
With three days of competitions, the Minas Brasil Rally is open to the motorcycle, UTV and car categories. Part of the route is unprecedented and will mix different types of obstacles, including gravel, trials, erosion, climbs and descents in mountainous stretches and, best of all, high-speed stretches with slight curves that add that extra touch of emotion. There will also be bridges and culverts along the way.
Each day there will be a different route, with the first stage covering 226 km, the second 237 km and the third 202 km. As well as Araxá, the route includes the towns of Sacramento, Tapira, Pratinha and Ibiá. Entries for the Rally Minas Brasil are still open at www.rallymakers.com.br.
