Rally Minas Brasil 2025: It's time to get up to speed at the Rally Minas Brasil
From May 13 to 17, drivers and navigators return to the Araxá region for the seventh edition of the event, valid for the Brazilian Rally Raid Championships
Expectations are high for the 7th Rally Minas Brasil (May 13 to 17). In just over three weeks' time, cars, motorcycles and UTVs will begin to tackle the mountainous roads around Araxá in the fight for the best times. The city in the Triângulo Mineiro and the surrounding municipalities are hosting the event for the fourth year running, which is valid for the CBA and CBM Brazilian Rally Raid Championship. The event will be held at the Grande Hotel Termas de Araxá, where the public will be able to visit the pits and watch the drivers and teams at close quarters with free access.
As in previous editions, the promise is of a varied and challenging route, with different types of terrain, winding stretches, mountain crossings and lots of navigation, all surrounded by beautiful scenery. Drivers and navigators who know the Rally Minas Brasil know that it is a competition with little time for “rest” - no endless straights or distant references on the spreadsheet. To be fast and reach the podium, you need to keep your eyes open at all times, as well as sturdy and reliable equipment.
The total route of the 7th Minas Brasil Rally will be over 700 km, 80% of which will be timed. On Wednesday (14), competitors will be able to test their equipment at the Shakedown and then the action begins with the Prologue, a short test to define the starting order. The timing will be opened on the 15th, starting at 8am, with the start of the Tapira-Desemboque Special, a 179 km timed section.
On Friday (16) there will be more speed, with the Pratinha Special (170km timed). The winners will be known on Saturday (17), after passing the Horizonte Perdido timed section, with a special of 174 km.
The director of Rallymakers, the organizer of the event, Fernando Bentivoglio, gives the first spoilers to the entrants. "It's going to be a very demanding rally, as is the characteristic of Minas Brasil. The starts this year will take place in very beautiful locations, highlighting the nature of Minas Gerais, especially on the last day, when the special will begin at Horizonte Perdido. The three days are mountainous, with trial sections, and the navigators will have plenty of references to pass on to the drivers. It's one of the races in Brazil in which their role is the most decisive for the pair's result. The rapport between driver and navigator, especially in terms of communication, will be fundamental," he sums up.
