Rally Minas Brasil 2025: The rally that fills the eyes of the competitors
The seventh edition of Minas Brasil - a rally that delivers highly technical routes amid one of the most beautiful landscapes in Minas Gerais - begins next Tuesday (13). The city of Araxá is hosting the event
A privileged competition! In addition to the technical quality of the route, the structure and the ease of logistics, the Rally Minas Brasil also stands out for its natural beauty. From May 13 to 17, the event will once again be in Araxá (MG), with the support park in the parking lot of the Grande Hotel Termas de Araxá - one of the region's main tourist attractions.
However, the 7th Rally Minas Brasil has more in store: with approximately 800 km of racing, the route will also go around the mountains of the municipalities of Pratinha, Tapira, Sacramento and Ibiá, which this year is presenting spectacular scenery. “Without a doubt, this will be the most beautiful edition of the Rally Minas Brasil. Anyone who can look at the places where they will be accelerating is sure to be enchanted. The variety of shades of green along the route is impressive and, at dusk, they are illuminated and even more beautiful,” says the event's general director, Fernando Bentivoglio.
A challenging route
Valid for the CBA - Brazilian Automobile Confederation - and CBM - Brazilian Motorcycle Confederation - Brazilian Rally Raid Championship, the competition will have three days with different timed sections. According to Bentivoglio, the vehicles will be demanded to the extreme. “Suspension, engine, brakes... The set has to be very resistant and prepared to face very severe terrain obstacles, because we'll have everything: rocks, trial sections, uphill and downhill sections, winding sections and even changes of terrain between dirt and sand,” Bentivoglio warned.
There will be some radar zones for drivers and navigators to “take a break”, but the promise is of a breakneck pace. “There are no 'interminable' straights and no more distant references on the spreadsheet to give the participants that 'breather'. It will be an intense race from start to finish,” added Bentivoglio.
The schedule
The teams will start arriving in Araxá next Monday (12), but the race office (at the Grande Hotel Termas de Araxá) will only officially open on the 13th, from 9.30 a.m.; this is also the day for technical inspections and briefings. The public can visit the venue.
On Wednesday (14), in a small closed section, the off-roaders will test their machines in the Shakedown between 9:20 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., and then, at 1:30 p.m., the prologue will be authorized - a time trial that will define the starting order for the first Special, named Tapira-Desemboque, with 180 km of timed section. The start is scheduled for Thursday (15) at 8am.
The Minas Brasil Rally continues on Friday (16), with the Pratinha Special (168 km). And it closes on Saturday (17), at the end of the 169 km Horizonte Perdido Special. The award ceremony for the champions of each category is scheduled for 5pm.
