On Wednesday (9), the second stage of the 27th RN 1500 Rally was marked by a difficult course, with the drivers having to cover 281.32 kilometers between Cabaceiras, in Paraíba, and Currais Novos, in Rio Grande do Norte, of which 218.10 were Special Timed.

With the mission of opening the race, Adrien Metge, from the Yamaha IMS Rally Team, stood out once again by winning the stage, consolidating his lead in both the Overall and Moto1 categories. On a demanding day, marked by hills and winding terrain in the Sertão do Cariri, the Frenchman on the WR450F maintained a consistent performance and extended his lead to almost four minutes (3min51sec) as the race reached its halfway point.

In the Moto2 category, Gabriel Bruning faced a tough day and had difficulties with his navigation equipment, but he still managed to set a strong enough pace to stay in the lead of the competition.

For Gabriel Soares, who started today in the Top 5 of the General Classification, the day was full of adversity but, above all, a lot of overcoming. The driver encountered problems with the fuel pump in one of the tanks and had to stop to resolve the problem. Despite the lost time, he managed to get back into the race and is ready to make up ground on the remaining two days.

Ricardo “Bob” Martins also took another victory in the Moto Over category and extended his lead in the standings. At the halfway point of the race, the Yamaha Ténéré 700 is behaving very well and continues to demonstrate all its versatility and endurance, confirming that it is ready to maintain its good performance on the way to the top step of the podium.

On Thursday (10), the drivers will tackle the third stage of the RN 1500 Rally, starting and finishing in the city of Currais Novos, in Rio Grande do Norte. The route will cover 260.92 kilometers, 178.74 of which will be Special Timed. The day promises the challenge of the purest backlands, with lots of rocks, hard and winding surfaces.

The Yamaha IMS Rally Team is sponsored by IMS Racewear, DID, Yamalube, Ram, Wurth, Polisport, Borilli, Power MX, Higor Tanques, Negretti Preparações, Tendas El Shaddai, Wamc Log, Durag, LogiTime and Slin Graphics.
