Monteiro will be one of the cities included in the route of the 28th edition of the Rally RN 1500 and will host the caravan of one of Brazil’s most traditional rally raid events on April 17. At a decisive stage of the competition, the city becomes part of the event’s itinerary at a moment when performance, endurance, and strategy carry even greater weight in the fight for top results.
The passage through Monteiro comes after the challenges faced in Rio Grande do Norte, with stages in Natal, Galinhos, and Acari, and precedes the grand finish of the race in Pernambuco. In total, the rally brings together around 200 competitors, including drivers and navigators, along with a large traveling structure composed of mechanics, team managers, technical staff, specialized media, and support crews, mobilizing approximately one thousand people along the route.
Located in the Cariri region of Paraíba, Monteiro hosts the Rally RN 1500 during a section that represents both transition and high competitive demand. At this point in the race, competitors already carry the accumulated fatigue of previous days, making every decision even more critical. It is a stage where consistency, terrain reading, and the ability to maintain performance under pressure become decisive factors.
For Rally RN 1500 general director Kleber Tinoco, Monteiro’s inclusion reinforces the regional and traveling nature of the event. “The Rally RN 1500 has this essence of crossing different territories in the Northeast, connecting landscapes, cultures, and cities that help build the identity of the race. Monteiro joins this route as an important point in the competition, at a very strategic stage when the rally becomes even more demanding and exciting. It is essential to have a city prepared to receive the caravan at such a decisive moment,” he highlighted.
Monteiro’s mayor also emphasized the importance of hosting the event. “Welcoming the Rally RN 1500 is a source of pride for Monteiro. It is a highly relevant competition on the national sporting scene, which energizes the city, attracts visitors, and increases the visibility of our municipality within an event that crosses several states in the Northeast. We are pleased to be part of this route and to welcome all competitors, teams, and organizers,” said Mayor Ana Paula.
Beyond its sporting importance, the rally’s passage through Monteiro also generates economic activity for the city, impacting sectors such as accommodation, food services, commerce, and local services. The presence of the caravan reinforces the city’s ability to host large-scale traveling events and increases its visibility within one of the country’s leading off-road competitions.
After the program in Monteiro, competitors head to the final stage of the route, which will conclude in Nova Jerusalém, in the municipality of Brejo da Madre de Deus, before the official closing of the 28th edition in Caruaru.
With nearly three decades of history, the Rally RN 1500 has established itself as one of the most technical and iconic events in South America, combining sport, endurance, strategy, and a route that highlights the diversity of landscapes in northeastern Brazil.
