Sertões 2025: International Star Power Strengthens Motorcycle Grid at Sertões 2025
Over its 32 editions, the Sertões Rally has welcomed some of the biggest names in rally raid on two and four wheels—athletes who helped shape the history of the largest rally in the Americas.
And 2025 will be no different. One of the most talented and promising motorcycle riders on the international scene will take on the 3,482 km route between Goiânia and Marechal Deodoro / Barra de São Miguel (AL), from July 26 to August 3. Honda confirmed this Thursday (17th) the participation of Spanish rider Tosha Schareina, who will join the regular lineup of Honda Racing Brazil for the event.
Originally from Valencia, the 29-year-old Schareina has victories in races like Ruta 40 (Argentina) and Rally Raid Portugal, both part of the World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC). He currently sits third in this year’s standings, highlighted by a second-place finish at the Dakar Rally.
“This will be the longest race I’ve done this year after Dakar. I’m really excited—it’ll be my first time in Brazil, and I have high expectations for the event. I’ve heard great things, and we all know how amazing Sertões is. I’m thankful to Honda Racing Brazil for the invitation—let’s make the most of this race together,” said Schareina.
He will ride the official CRF 450 Rally, supported by HRC, Honda’s global racing division.
The Honda team will also feature Argentine Martin Duplessis, runner-up at Sertões 2022; Tiago Wernersbach, who moves up from the Brasil category to Moto 3; and two newcomers: Bruno Crivilin from Espírito Santo, a 12-time Brazilian Enduro Champion, who will make his Sertões debut in Moto 2, where he currently leads the national series; and Alexandre “Brankim” Valadares from Minas Gerais, who will represent the brand in the Brazilian bike category, riding a CRF 250F.
Also registered is French rider Romain Dumontier, runner-up in the Rally 2 World Championship, though his participation remains uncertain as he recovers from an injury.
