Sertões 2025: Yamaha IMS Rally Team Dominates the 2025 Sertões Rally—Triple Champions!
Moto 2, Moto Over, and Big Trail titles head to Yamaha after an unforgettable adventure across Brazil
The dust has settled on the 33rd edition of the Sertões Rally, and it’s Yamaha IMS Rally Team that stands on top—taking home three championship titles: Moto 2, Moto Over, and Big Trail. In a year when the rally stretched from Goiânia to Marechal Deodoro, crossing the heart of Brazil through Minas Gerais, Bahia, and Pernambuco, Yamaha’s determination and skill shone brighter than ever.
In just their sixth year at Sertões, Yamaha IMS Rally Team continues to build a legendary legacy, adding to past overall wins by Ricardo Martins (2020) and Adrien Metge (2021, 2024). This year, the team’s trophy cabinet gets even fuller with three new category victories.
Ricardo “Bob” Martins, competing in his 16th Sertões, delivered a performance for the ages—winning both Moto Over and Big Trail aboard the Yamaha Ténéré 700. Going up against purpose-built rally bikes, Bob not only clinched these titles but also finished an impressive 5th overall. On top of that, the Santa Catarina native had already locked up the Brazilian Rally Championship (Moto Over) by winning all 17 national stages. Sunday’s podium felt like destiny—Bob rising to claim dual championships in front of the rally world.
Not to be outdone, Gabriel Bruning showed remarkable strength and consistency throughout the grueling race, claiming the Moto 2 title and finishing as the overall runner-up—matching his 2023 performance, when he also put his Yamaha WR450F on the podium.
The BLU CRU program’s rising star, Guilherme Bissoto, took a fantastic 3rd place overall. When the dust cleared, three out of the Top 5 bikes at Sertões 2025 wore Yamaha colors—two WR450Fs and a Ténéré 700.
The team also welcomed Gabriel “Tomate” Soares, current leader in the national rally championship. While technical issues forced him out of two stages, he remains in the hunt for the national title. Meanwhile, two-time Sertões winner Adrien Metge was sidelined by injury this year, but his spirit was felt by the whole squad.
With three new titles, Yamaha IMS Rally Team closes out Sertões 2025 as one of the undisputed powerhouses of Brazilian rally.
