The Prologue of the Rally dos Sertões, the biggest rally in the Americas, held in Goiânia on a five-kilometre circuit, saw Martim Ventura, a rider supported by bp Ultimate, set the fastest time among competitors in the MT2 Class. A member of the official Honda HRC team, the young Portuguese rider, who currently leads the Rally2 category in the FIM World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC), also posted the fourth-best overall time in this prologue of the Rally dos Sertões Petrobras 2026, which runs until 30 August and will see competitors cover 4,020 timed kilometres.
"It was a really good day of racing, especially the Super Prime, which had great public involvement. It's very different from the World Championship rounds, where we don't have as much contact with the people. I loved this experience. Everything went well — above all, it was a moment of adaptation. The first day will be long and important, and I'm setting out with a calm approach, since I don't know the terrain and need to get to grips with it little by little," said the rider supported by bp Ultimate.
The first stage of the Rally dos Sertões, taking place today, Sunday 23 August, takes competitors from Goiânia to Cavalcante over a total of 651 km, of which 343 km will be timed. Riders will face an initial 265 km liaison section and will also cover the final 43 km of the stage as a liaison.
