Dakar 2021: Nani Roma and Sebastian Loeb tested the brand newBRX T1

Bahrain Raid Xtreme (BRX) has completed its first major testing stage in Millbrook, England, and the team and drivers are very confident in how well the car performed during testing.

The BRX bespoke Dakar Rally T1 car was tested to the extreme by the experienced duo of Nani Roma and Sebastian Loeb, as BRX drivers got familiar with the vehicle ahead of next year's Dakar Rally. The team covered almost 2,000 km in total, the equivalent of almost four stages of the Dakar Rally.

Testing at Millbrook provided a variety of conditions found on the Dakar: from rugged gravel terrain and notorious pavement to sustained high speeds, providing the team with a solid foundation to finish preparing the car before the rally.

Roma and Loeb are no strangers to putting their cars to the test and pushing limits when driving and were encouraged by the vehicle's performance and capabilities, with both commenting on how easy the BRX T1 car was to drive.

BRX driver Sebastien Loeb commented:

“I managed to spend a day testing the new car and I could immediately feel that it had a good balance and a lot of power. Even in very low grip wet conditions, it was easy to control and with further testing, I think we can develop its potential. I really want to travel to the Middle East in November and start testing in the sand. "

BRX driver Nani Roma commented:

“Any driver will tell you that you know if you have a good car within a few minutes of getting behind the wheel and for me everything was positive: the brakes, the steering, the engine, the suspension. Every time we took the vehicle out, we learned something new. There is still a lot to do, but this is normal with such a new car. Of course, I did my best to try to break it, but I failed! "

BRX's bespoke Dakar Rally T1 car is a four-wheel-drive car, powered by a 3.5-liter turbocharged petrol V6. The vehicle is based on the experience of Prodrive, competing at the highest levels of world motorsport for more than three decades, and has been designed by Ian Callum, one of the world's leading motorsports designers.
