Dakar 2023: António Maio continues to climb positions

António Maio had another excellent performance in the Dakar Rally when he completed the third stage of the race in 19th place, which allowed him to rise to the same position in the general classification. The Yamaha pilot, who was in 14th position, took 4h45m54s to complete the 447 km that comprised today's selective sector.

"Today the day went well. At the beginning of the special we found very fast tracks where it was possible to increase the pace a little more, but after the supply the course was already more technical and had many sandy areas. It was a very fast and beautiful stage, quite different from yesterday, when we had a lot of rocks along the way. Even so I didn't risk too much because the course is very hard and I want to manage the race always aiming to finish", said António Maio at the end of the third stage of the Dakar Rally which linked Al-Ula to Ha-Il.

The fourth stage of Dakar 2023 will take place in Ha-Il and will consist of a selective sector with 425km. The first 100km of dunes will be quite demanding. Once this stage is over, the sandy tracks that lead the delegation back to Ha-l anticipate a difficult navigation. It will take a lot of concentration to interpret and follow the Roadbook's instructions.
