Hélder Rodrigues, navigated by Gonçalo Reis at the controls of a Can-Am, entered by South Racing, started his participation in the Dakar Rally 2023, which is being held in Saudi Arabia, registering a time inside the Top 10 of category T3, in this that is his debut in the auto competition of the most important world off-road competition.

"We started our participation in the Dakar competing in a fast prologue with many deep sandy gullies, but very beautiful. It was the first day of the race and we were concerned about being calm, very focused, thinking about the race, and with that we achieved a time that gives us a good starting position for tomorrow. The important thing now is to start the Dakar calmly in the first days, to see how the terrain is, how the race is going to work, who our opponents are, and little by little we will attack and rise in the classification. This is the goal", said Hélder Rodrigues at the Sea Camp after having competed the 13 kilometers of the prologue.

With 367 km of selective sector in a total of 602.56 km the 1st stage will be disputed around Sea Camp. The sandy tracks will be followed by rocky sections with some gravel. Beginners will put their dune surfing skills to the test on the final stretch. Although not particularly challenging, this stage will give an early insight into the positions of all participants.
