Hélder Rodrigues is back to the Dakar Rally which will be held from December 31 to January 15 in Saudi Arabia, this time at the controls of a Can-Am being navigated by Gonçalo Reis.
The debut of Hélder Rodrigues in the Dakar on four wheels will happen tomorrow when the duo of the Can-Am 319 will dispute the prologue of the race. For now the pilot is confident and believes he can achieve a good result.
"I am happy to be competing again in the Dakar, for the first time on four wheels. The SSV discipline has grown a lot and it is a discipline with many pilots and very competitive, so I'm sure it will be a great challenge. I will compete with the South Racing team, which has won the Dakar Rally five times. I'm not an official driver, but I'm going with all the conditions in terms of car and work and so I'll work to do the best classification possible. I believe we can do a good result due to all the work, all the experience we have and with the support of the team. I'll share the SSV with Gonçalo Reis, who will be my navigator, our communication inside the car is excellent and that's why I believe it will be a good experience", revealed Helder Rodrigues, who is going to do his eighth Dakar Rally.
The Dakar Rally will hold its fourth edition in Saudi Arabia in 2023. The race includes 14 stages, a prologue and a rest day that will take place on January 9th in Riyadh.
