Dakar 2023: Konrad Dabrowski will not race the Dakar 2023

The young winner of the FIM Baja World Cup, Konrad Dabrowski, is currently hospitalized in Warsaw for an operation that is not serious but that forces him to withdraw from the list of entries for the Dakar 2023

Konrad Dabrowski : "I am terribly disappointed not to participate in the 2023 Dakar that would have been my third", says Konrad. " In September, I caught Covid, I was very sick and very tired until November. It wasn't easy for me to get back in shape because at the end of the season, there were two rallies one after the other, I was really tired. Then I went back to Dubai and I was able to train for a month and a half and for the Baja International Dubai, I was almost at 100% and more confident for the Dakar. But then three days ago, I had severe abdominal pain. I resisted all day but in the evening, I had to go to the emergency and the diagnosis fell: appendicitis. The surgeon operated on me the next day but I can't train for 4 weeks... In two weeks I will be able to start cycling and swimming again but I can't race the Dakar without the risk of the internal scar opening.
I gave my best and worked very hard to get back in shape for this Dakar but now I have to focus on the 2023 Cross Country Rally season and the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge that will open the season.
