Dakar 2023: Mário Patrão keeps 2nd place "malle moto

Mário Patrão completed the special around Há'il with 425 very demanding timed km, in an excellent 2nd place in the Original By Motul, thus equaling the position he conquered yesterday. With this result, the pilot supported by CRÉDITO AGRÍCOLA occupies the third place in the general classification of the so-called "malle moto" class.

The experienced pilot and also mechanic Mário Patrão, sponsored by LUSÍADAS SAÚDE, concluded the hard journey marked by many dunes, sandy tracks and difficult navigation, in an excellent time. About the stage, the current European Bajas and Rally Raid Champion reveals: "Today's race went very well, it was very sandy and navigation was not always easy after the rain! Overall I'm satisfied, I didn't make any mistakes and I'm consistent in my goal", says Mário Patrão.

Tomorrow the BAHCO-supported pilot can count on a fifth stage marked by a lot of sand. This will be the second loop around Há'il. The journey of 645.04 km will include a special stage of 373 kilometers. A course of small dunes with camel grass will give way to vast stretches "sprinkled" with dunes. The technique of overcoming the dunes will make the difference between winning or losing minutes: only the true experts will master the soft sand, without losing time.
