Dakar 2023: Stage 6 - Mário Patrão keeps podium in the Dakar Rally

Mário Patrão is having an excellent performance in the Dakar Rally 2023. After solving the problems related to the presence of water in the motorcycle fuel yesterday, which implied a night with little rest, Mário Patrão was again in an excellent plan today in the sixth stage of the Dakar Rally. He repeated the third best time among the pilots who have the arduous task of doing their own assistance and consolidates the same position in the general classification of the Class.

The stage, which due to the weather conditions in the last few days, marked by heavy rain, had to be reduced in 100 km - leaving 358 km of qualifying distance between Ha'il and Riyadh - was completed by the European Bajas and National Raid Rally Champion, supported by CRÉDITO AGRICOLA, in 04H 02m 50's.

For the rider who counts with the support of BAHCO, "the day was a bit confusing. The rains messed up the course and there are still situations to be defined for the next days. There were many kilometers on the bike, the connection was very long, but everything went well. The bike didn't have any problems. Today was a particularly hard stage also because I rested for a few hours: I was making the necessary changes to the bike to make sure that the problems caused by gasoline the day before were solved, which fortunately I managed to do. They have been complicated days because of the number of hours you spend in competition, but also making the connections, but that's part of the Dakar spirit. We remain focused on our objective".

Given the weather conditions that were again felt today, the Dakar organization decided to cancel the seventh special that would take place tomorrow between Riyadh and Al Duwadimi for the motorcycle and quad classes. The motorcycles and quads will be invited to leave the camp in Riyadh from 10:00 a.m. tomorrow morning and head for Al Duwadimi.

On Sunday, January 8, the riders will compete in the eighth stage, which will have the route originally set for the seventh stage reduced to 345 kilometers of time.
