Who they are:
Hero MotoCorp Ltd (HMCL) forayed into the world of motorcycle rally racing by forming a strategic partnership with Speedbrain GmbH, the German off-road racing specialist, thus forming the “Hero MotoSports Team Rally”.
The team made is debut at the Merzouga Rally in Morocco in May 2016 where their riders Joaquim Rodrigues and C.S.Santosh rode with grit and tenacity to finish in 9th and 16th position respectively. The team continued with another strong performance in the Oilibya Rally 2016, where Joaquim Rodrigues finished 14th and C.S.Santosh 30th overall.
The team made its mark in the global Rally Raid arena with a superb show in the 2017 edition of the Dakar Rally, one of the toughest races in the world. The team's riders performed exceptionally well, with Joaquim Rodrigues finishing in an impressive 12th place and C.S.Santosh winding it up in 47th position overall. Hero Motorsports also earned the unique distinction of being the only manufacturer with a 100% performance: all of its riders crossing the finish line.

Hero MotoSports Team Rally is operating under the supervision of Dr. Markus Braunsperger, Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Hero MotoCorp, and will work in close collaboration with the Speedbrain team to take the “Hero MotoSports” brand further by participating in national and international rally events. Hero MotoSports Team Rally will also assist in development and testing of new Hero vehicle concepts, using the data collected from the races.
