Morocco Desert Challenge 2020: Almost full in 24 hours

"Dear rally-fans,
It must be the dream of every rally organizer! And we, the organising team of the Morocco Desert Challenge, are experiencing this today. Only 24 hours after opening the registrations for the 2020 edition, 70% of the places have already been taken, good for 707 people (pilots, navigators and assistance). The MDC can without doubt call itself the most popular rally-raid in the world."

27 RACE TRUCK
There is a real chance that the MDC will again be the biggest truck race in the world. With 27 T4’s already registered and five more in the pipeline, this ambition is within reach. Again the majority comes from the Netherlands (EVM, Schoones, Mammoth, Versteijnen, Van Den Heuvel, Hamer, Timmermans and many others) but Belgium is also well represented (Gregoor, Rotsaert, Ingels, Verheyden, etc.). The remaining places are taken by French (2 x Boucou) and Eastern European teams such as Fazekas and of course the winners of the 2019 edition: MAZ from Belarus. Wondering who will fill up the last 8 places.
 
51 MOTORBIKES & QUADS
Again a very international field with France as the front runner with 12 bikes. For the first time we welcome groups of Italian, Norwegian and Mexican riders. But also Americans, Czechs, Spaniards & Belgians. The Dutch close the list in this category. About 10 drivers choose the Malle-Moto category. There are still 24 places available!

68 CARS & BUGGY's 
Curious as to who will beat the MD Rallysport Optimus buggies next year. The Overdrives (MP Rallysport, Paulo Ferreira, Vincent Thijs, etc.), the Ford Rangers of South-Racing, the Red-Lined Nissan Navarras, or a Herrator buggy? Half of the participants are driving top cars, but at least as many racers are registered with more affordable vehicles. (especially many Bowlers and Toyota Landcruisers). Japan, Venezuela, South Africa, Israel, Algeria, Mexico ... it will be a beautiful, international competition.

65 SIDE-BY-SIDE VEHICLES 
Fully booked! Yes, 65 SSVs registered in 1 day and almost all are Can-Am Maveric X3. It was to be predicted: the side-by-side vehicles, the category that is going to be the future of rally-raid is also the most popular category in the Morocco Desert Challenge. France, home of the 2019 winner Philippe Pinchedez, leads the dance with more than 20 SSVs, followed by the Netherlands & Belgium. In principle, this category is already full. Whether we’ll accept a few more depends on the evolution of the car-registrations.
