Panafrica Rally 2019: Day Pushed Drivers and Riders to Their Limits

Despite its just 230km of Special Stages, the second racing day of the 2019 Panafrica Rally was a tough one, especially for the rookies.

The dunes of Merzouga showed their real face and with the heat getting up to 45c, crews and organisation pushed themselves to the limits.

In the Moto division, SHERCO TVS Rally Factory's Frenchman Michael Metge achieved the best performance of the day with a total time of 3 hours and 8 minutes, followed by his teammate Lorenzo Santolino from Spain with a difference of 3 minutes.

2017 Dakar's podium finisher Gerard Farres from Spain was the fastest in the SSV category, with the Xraids-Buggymasters Team of Jesus Puras Vidal and Javier Blanco Garcia achieving the 2nd best performance, recovering the lost ground after a DNF in Day 1.

Day 3 is expected to be even harder, testing the competitors' skills and stamina with a 300-km Special Stage.
