Panafrica Rally 2019: Epic Conclusion for the Panafrica Rally 2019

Tough terrain, long distances & extreme temperatures describe this year’s Panafrica Rally that featured six intense racing days with an epic conclusion.

1500km of the most challenging tracks included more than the usual mix Morocco offers, proving navigation as the major deciding factor for the podium.
In the bike class, the Indian HERO TEAM arrived at Merzouga well prepared and achieved an exceptional victory, just a couple months prior to the Dakar Rally. Apart from applying a great strategy, they took full advantage of SHERCO's setback due to technical issues.
Going into the final day, HERO TEAM's Joaquim Rodrigues from Portugal was trying hard to retain his mere advantage. After 16 hours of overall racing and a series of consistent results throughout the week, Rodrigues claimed the victory followed closely by the Italian Jacopo Cerutti and Sebastian Buhler from Germany, who finished 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Sebastian Souday from France has been pushing his YAMAHA quad-bike to its limits and finished the race with a comfortable advantage over the 2nd Toni Vingut from Spain.
The Spanish team of the 2017 Dakar Rally Podium finisher, Gerard Farrés and his co-driver Armand Monleon, has been dominant since Day 1 in the SSV category. In several cases, their Can-Am Side-by-Side was even faster than the elite bikes.
Competitors -though tired- all crossed the finish line with the promise to return.
