On 25th May the 8th Rali TT Baía Azul took place, valid for the Angolan Rally Raid Championship 2019 - CARR.
The race featured a 10km prologue and four 30Km stages, held in an area with magnificent views over the ocean and where track's main features is the soft sand. 
With a shorter entry list than usual, the race was still very disputed and with lots of fun for those who entered this race.
On class M (Motorbikes) the winner was João Catarino ridding a KTM SXF 350.  Second overall Branquinho Pina after receiving a penalty due to a malfunction on his motorbike on the prologue that prevented him to finish this section inside the permitted time.  On third place finished Célio Plácido on a  KTM EXC 350
Helder Coelho Vuty won the Quad race on a Yamaha Raptor 700 followed by Miguel Silva on Honda TRX 450. Finally in third place finished Paulo Trindade also on a TRX 450
As for the cars, the winner was Ricardo Sequeira/Jorge Monteiro, making from this the 6th consecutive victory with his ultra reliable Mitsubishi Pajero EVO. Maló Almeida/João Paulo (Isuzu) tried hard to conquer the victory but was unsuccessful, finishing in a meritory second place.  On third place, with another Mitsubshi finished Pedro Jesus
As for the SSV, the winner was José  Rochas in a Polaris 1000, ahead of Hamilton Gonçalves also on Polaris.

The 2019 CARR's season continues on July 6th, in Conda, Kwanza Sul province.
