António Maio ended today his participation in the Rallye du Maroc where he secured the first position among private pilots and the 16th place in the general classification. In the fifth and last stage of this all-terrain marathon, held around Zagora, the TT National Champion reached the 21st place, a result that allowed him to stand out in this competition.

António Maio, who competed at the controls of a Yamaha, revealed:

"the last stage was shorter than we expected, considering the movements from the paddock to the boat. There were 160 km of special where we tried to keep up the pace and conquered the 16th place of the Rallye du Maroc. We met our goal, which was to test the bike, practice Roadbook navigation, and feel the sensations of the desert. Without a doubt, it was an excellent training session for the Dakar. Bruno and I did our job well and we are satisfied with the result we achieved. I want to thank Franco Sport for the logistic support they gave me. Now, when we return to Portugal, our goal is to get back to the national championship", said the Portuguese driver.

The Portuguese Rally-Raid Champion now returns to Portugal and will prepare his participation for the Baja Portalegre 500, which will take place between October 28 and 30.
