Preparations for the Dakar begin in earnest.
The Morocco Rally begins on 7 October and for everyone, it is probably the beginning of the final phase of preparations for the Dakar Rally. Konrad Dabrowski, the only Polish motorcyclist to reach the finish line of the last Dakar, is not absent from the start list.
The competitors will cover a total distance of over 2,600 kilometres, starting and finishing every day in Zagora. They will finish the last leg of the rally on 13 October.
"With my start in Morocco, I am beginning my preparations for Dakar 2022 which, have been going on since the completion of the previous edition but since February I have not competed in any of the rallies on a Dakar bike but only on an enduro motorcycle. The Rally of Morocco is a very difficult rally, but I have had the opportunity to compete in it in 2019 and so I know what to expect."- says Konrad Dabrowski.
What adds spice is the fact that the young Pole is on the RallyGP start list, along with the best riders in the world, such as Sam Sanderland, Franco Caimi, Ricky Brabec, and Toby Price, among others.
"I'm on the list of RallyGP competitors. Almost 100% of the riders on that list are factory team riders. It's a strong group, but I'm happy about it because I'll be able to compare myself to the best riders."- added Dabrowski.
However, the Morocco Rally brings other challenges for Dabrowski and the DUUST DIVERSE Rally Team. During the penultimate round of the European Enduro Championship, held on September 18-19 in Kielce, the Pole suffered an injury.
"It is possible that my left shoulder will suffer. Thanks to the rehabilitation, it's much better now and I hope it won't be an obstacle."- explained Dabrowski.
Budget restrictions affect the size of the team. DUUST decided to introduce restrictions and send the minimum necessary equipment and personnel to Morocco.
"We are preparing for the Dakar, which is a challenge, also financially. The limitations which we decided to introduce are supposed to translate into greater flexibility of operations at the beginning of January. We are holding talks with sponsors for whom sponsoring Konrad is a strategic decision and gives new opportunities for promotion at the world level, so all the activities must be planned."

Points scored in the Morocco Rally count towards the Cross Country World Cup. On the start list, in addition to Konrad Dabrowski, we will see other Poles. Our country will be represented by: Rafal Sonik, aron Domzała/ Rafał Marton, Michał Goczał/ Szymon Gospodarczyk, and Kuba Przygoński/ Timo Gottschalka.
The last time Konrad drove in the desert was in February this year at the Baja Dubai, when he took the lead in the Baja World Cup (junior), and the final battle for the top podium in this Cup will take place on October 28-30 in Portugal at the Baja Portalegre.
and the most world's famous off-road rally, the Dakar, starts on January 1 from Ha'il in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
