Rally of Morocco 2021: Paulo Rui Ferreira and João Ferreira with excellent start in the Rallye du Maroc

The two Toyota's are in the Top 15 for the first stage

The 2021 edition of  Rallye du Maroc started today, with the Portuguese drivers João Ferreira registering the 13th best time and Paulo Rui Ferreira the 15th despite a puncture in the middle of the 10 kilometer prologue.

Ahead of the two PRF pilots, only almost official team drivers with the best machines available in international off-road competitions.

The João Ferreira/Jorge Monteiro duo chose not to push too hard in the prologue:

"Since, given João's inexperience in desert tracks, it was wiser to start a little further back",

as the young driver's navigator mentioned at the end of the prologue.

For Paulo Rui Ferreira the puncture:

"Made us lose some time, but nothing very important, and in the desert it's not difficult to overtake when necessary. A 13th or 15th place is excellent to start with"

explained the pilot navigated this time by newcomer David Monteiro.

Starting and finishing in Zagora, like all the other stages of the Rallye du Maroc 2021, tomorrow's stage, which includes a crossing of the Erg Chegaga, will have a selective sector of 288 kilometers for a total of 441 km.
