Rally of Morocco 2021: Van Loon learns and enjoys on first stage in Morocco

On the first stage of the Rallye du Maroc, Erik van Loon and Sébastien Delaunay open the test with the new Toyota Hilux T1+. It is a difficult test through the dunes around Zagora. Van Loon and Delaunay are starting to get to know the car better and better and are satisfied with the result. 

"I'm starting to understand the car," Van Loon tells us. "You really have to drive it very differently than the old car. We lost 12 minutes because we drove the wrong way, otherwise we would have finished third. So a top result that we are very happy with." 

Van Loon can enjoy his status as test driver:

"Everyone is looking at us and the car. We have to open and are therefore immediately the benchmark. It's going very well, we're learning every kilometer and we're gaining a lot of knowledge for the Dakar Rally."
