Rally of Morocco 2021: Xtremeplus ready for the Morocco Rally 

There is a lot of expectations for the 2021 edition of the Morocco Rally that sees all the factory and the top teams at the start with a record number of 160 bikes and 100 cars.
Today a caravan of 850 people gathered for the administrative and technical scrutineering at the bivouac in Zagora, headquarter of the rally for the whole race.

The rally features 5 special stages, 1,633 kilometers of timed section for a total of 2,656 kilometers. The route this year has been conceived in the form of loops around Zagara in the Drâa-Tafilalet region to enable a smooth running of the rally.
 
The XtremePlus team is at the start of the famous Morocco Rally, considered as the most important test in preparation for the Dakar with four vehicles.  
Behind the steering wheels of their Polaris Pro XP, four crews that are very familiar faces in the rally-raid bivouacs:

“After this two-year hiatus we are really happy to return racing in Morocco which is like the second home for Xtremeplus”, said Marco Piana, the team owner. “Joining the Morocco Rally is always a very good test to see our level and that of our competitors. We look forward to test the updates and the modifications done on the Polaris Pro XP. The terrain in fact is very similar to Saudi Arabia, that in January will host the Dakar Rally for the third year. The combination of sand, dunes but also rocky and mountain paths will enable us to test the performance and the robustness of the CST Apache tyres on these extreme conditions."

“As for the line-up the target of our four gentlemen drivers is firstly to enjoy the beautiful Moroccan desert and the friendly ambience of the bivouac and finish in the best possible way. It’s a pleasure to have with us the British crew Graham / Watson that are part of the Xtremeplus family. Aged 70, Graham Knight continues to surprise us and it’s an incredible boost of energy for all of us. He finished the 2021 Dakar and he is ready for a new adventure."

“Pena / Tornabel are a very experienced duo. T3 world champion in 2018, Jose Luis Pena is currently third in the FIA overall ranking and he will keep on fighting aiming at a podium finish in the championship." 

“Gaspari / Salvatore will compete as the CST crew. For both Enrico and Massimo, this is the first year on a  SSV. Together they have competed with us the Andalusia Rally, the Kazakhstan and the Silk Way,  their target is to continue to gain experience to participate to the Cross Country world rally championship in 2022. "

"The Morocco rally will be the first race after the 2021 Dakar for Guyasamin and  Torlaschi. The target for this young crew is to regain the pace. I’m confident that Sebastian can do well, he is a very fast driver.
All in all, the target for our four crews is to finish in the best possible way, having fun and enjoying every single moment of the race."

Tomorrow morning the administrative and technical scrutineering will go on while in the afternoon the competitors will tackle a 10-km long prologue, that will decide the starting order of the first stage.
