Rallye du Maroc 2019: Isidre Esteve returns to the desert to debut is new Dakar project

Repsol Rally Team's driver Isidre Esteve returns to Rallye do Morocco, a race where last year he finished as the best Spanish and got his best result ever on a world cup race: 9th overall and second in T1.2.
Esteve will take this opportunity to test the most recent evolution of his prototype vehicle and prepare his participation in the Dakar 2020, that will take place at the beginning of the year in Saudi Arabia

The 2019 Morocco Rally is an excellent opportunity to test the recent evolution of his BV6 de Sodicars Racing that made history one year ago by finishing on Top 10 of this race, valid for FIA's World Cup for Cross-Country Rallies

"The most important change is that we gained ground clearance and get leveled with other vehicles like Mini or Toyota and be able to cross the most difficult terrains without touching it with the bottom of our car. The vehicle was the same configuration as the older version, but the engine is completely new, and even if it looks pretty good, we still need to test it under racing conditions. This will also help us to know better the new BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KDR2+ tires, that we will use on the next Dakar, and to better understand what model should we use according to the conditions of each stage."  Morocco Rally's organizing team prepared a scenario very similar to the one the Dakar participants will find in Saudi Arabia in January: "The working dynamics in this rally will be the same as we will find in Dakar Rally, in terms of regulations, roadbook, terrain, etc. And we will also be entering the race to be able to test ourselves against our rivals to know what is our level. Because all of this, in our team we all think that is unmissable to race an event so extraordinary like the Moroccan race, that we can consider like a Mini-Dakar this year." finished the Spanish driver

Isidre Esteve and his co-driver Txema Villalobos will find a 5 stage race with more than 2500km Fes and Erfoud that will start Saturday 5 of October.
