2022 Baja TT Dehesa de Extremadura: Spanish championship returns to Badajoz

"The Baja TT Dehesa de Extremadura will take place on April 29th and 30th and May 1st, in the region of Extremadura, in the southwest of Spain, very close to Portugal. The town that will host the race is the border city of Badajoz. As a great novelty this year, the race is scoring for the European Cross Country Bajas Championship.

The headquarters for the event this year will be the Badajoz youth center, a building near the traditional work park in the old Badajoz fairgrounds. The race will have three legs, on Friday, April 29, the first leg, a shakedown will be held in the morning for the teams that request it and then the prologue stage next to the city of Badajoz and in the surroundings of the Guadiana River, being a spectacular stage. Afterwards, the start ceremony will take in the Plaza Alta de Badajoz, one of the most beautiful squares in Spain.

On Saturday, the second leg, there will be a stage in the surroundings of Alcochel, Alqueva Lake and Villanueva del Fresno, which will have two SS, it will have about 300 km against the clock, for Sunday, the last leg, it will end with a 130 km stage between Santa Marta and La Albuera to finish in the Plaza Alta where the awards ceremony will take place.

We are in the middle of a global pandemic. Along with the involved local, regional and national authorities, we’re aiming to draw up an action plan to secure that we can run a safe event as normal as possible – with special adaptations for the COVID-19 situation.
