24 Hours Off-Road France 2020: 2020, the biggest field of the last 8 years!

This year, the circuit of Fontaine-Fourches (77) will offer a new version of the main event of the French Endurance Championship: Saturday September 12 at 3:00 p.m., lined up on the starting grid, the cars will set off for 24 hours  offroad  of France. Almost all of them, because at 9:00 p.m. some racing cars will finish the 6H Ile de France Cross-Country, a new double-handed event, while the 78 other competitors will have 18 additional hours of racing in their sights!

In this year of a global pandemic, punctuated among other things by the cancellations and postponements of cultural and sporting events, no organizer could look with optimism and serenity on the future of his event. With the 24 Tout Terrain de France on the mid-September calendar for 28 years, they have certainly benefited from the frustration and impatience of the drivers to put on a helmet and compete against the clock on a circuit.
 
78 cars entered (278 drivers) in the 24HTT 2020, the same number as last year. However on the track you will not see 78 but 89 racing cars! Indeed, the 24HTT will host the Ile de France 6H All Terrain this year, with a common start: the start of the 28th edition will include 89 racing cars, unheard of since 2012!
Once again and as since 1993, the strength of the event is respected: a true crossroads of profiles of enthusiasts, experienced pilots facing amateur pilots, regulars on international podiums who share the track with others who are much more novice, ultra-structured teams next to the pits for a weekend with “resourceful” teams.
 

• 24H: 78 cars, 278 drivers in relay by team of 3 to 5 drivers
• 6H: 11 cars, 24 drivers in relay by teams of 2 to 3 drivers
• 6 nations represented (France, Italy (n ° 84), Latvia (n ° 03), Poland (n ° 17), Belgium (n ° 01)
• the 2019 winner, the first SSV in the history of the 24H which wins an edition, puts his title on the line: Sébastien Guyette, Fabrice Rousseau and Antoine Vitse are at the start (n ° 01 - Mercier Racing Team)
• imposing teams and preparers who came with 3 or 4 cars: Sodicars (n ° 4-45-115), Sofrat (n ° 7-14-16), PH Sports (n ° 9-46-47), MMP (n ° ° 6-18-19-82), Mercier Racing Team (n ° 01-08-22), Wiame Competition (n ° 11-12-117), Quad Bike Evasion (n ° 54-56-57-58), Pinch Racing (n ° 20-66-67)
• drivers with titles in international rally-raids like the quadruple world champion in rally-raids Jean-Pierre Strugo (n ° 9), Christian Lavieille (n ° 47), Mathieu Serradori and Mickael Pisano (n ° 53), to recite nobody else but them...
• formidable pilots from off-road rallies like Laurent Fouquet (n ° 21), Emmanuel Castan and Vincent Demonceaux (n ° 02), Romain Locmane (n ° 54), ...
• their counterparts in off-road endurance like Gilles Billaut and Philippe Boutron (n ° 04), Alexandre Andrade, Cédric Duplé and Yann Loïc Morize (n ° 77), Laurent Poletti (n ° 19), Georges Lansac (n ° 47), Jean -Philippe Béziat (n ° 06), pilots that we see more regularly on the asphalt like Wilfried Merafina, creator-organizer of the Lamera Cup (n ° 28), or on the ice with Olivier Pernaut (n ° 34 ).
• among the 302 drivers, 9 women on the starting grid including a 100% female team (n ° 115), still too little represented but much more than in previous years (2 in 2019) ● the youngest driver on the 2020 grid:

 
Finally, we keep our fingers crossed so that our Latvian friends (3rd in 2019) and our Italian, Belgian and Polish drivers can join France and participate in the race despite the health situation.
 
The huge rise of SSVs: more than 40% of the entry list!
Having arrived at the event in 2012, these powerful and light little buggies have gained year after year in performance. So much so that for the first time in its history, the podium of the event welcomed a ssv on its first and second step last year. Now envied by pilots looking for the Top 10, SSVs will be widely represented at the start of this unprecedented edition.
