After two days of testing by Erik and Anja van Loon, the Andalucia Rally starts today with a 9-kilometer prologue. This is the perfect opportunity for Anja and her brother Jan van de Laar to apply what they have learned during the tests. Erik and Sébastien Delaunay take a bit of a throttle back during the prologue to secure a starting position in the top ten.

"I listened very carefully during the test to Erik and Jan's tips," says Anja. "They noticed that sometimes I hesitate too long with braking or accelerating and with that you lose time but also confidence. We worked hard on that during the tests and today it went well. I hope we can improve this further in the coming days to find even more speed in the Can-Am."

Erik started the prologue a little too enthusiastically: "I almost put the Toyota Hilux on its roof after 1 kilometer, so then we took it down a notch. That will cost a bit of time, but if you actually roll here it will cost the rally. We are now eighth so we get to choose our starting position for tomorrow. That's when the rally really starts."

The first stage of the Andalucia Rally will be held in the vicinity of Seville and will cover 319 kilometers. The first car will start at 11:08 am and is expected at the finish line around 3:31 pm.
