Baja Aragon 2021: PRK Sport Rally Team with a great performance at the 1st Stage of Baja España Aragon

Pedro Dias da Silva/José Sá Pires secure 13th place and are the fourth best Portuguese team 

The first of the two stages of the 2021 edition of the Baja España Aragon was held this morning, an event of the European Bajas Championship which counts with the presence of four formations registered by PRK Sport Rally Team.

In this second incursion of the year in Spain, after the participation in Baja Dehesa Extremadura, the team headed, this time, to Teruel (Aragon) to dispute the most important TT competition in that country, which counts with the presence of the most important names of the discipline worldwide.
The Tomar-based team was at Baja Aragon in full force and showed all its potential right in the starting stage, with the duo Pedro Dias da Silva / José Sá Pires ensuring, no less than, the 13th place overall (same position in T1 category), they finished the 180 kilometers of this Friday's stage in the fourth position among the strong Portuguese armada disputing this round. 

Hindered during part of the day for having rolled in the dust of a slower competitor, Pedro Dias da Silva arrived at the end of the stage visibly satisfied with his performance, even though he felt that the other "obstacle" he encountered was the heat that was felt during the final phase of the timed section.

Showing they are more and more adapted to the Porsche Proto, Mike Braun/Ivo Santos once again registered a performance worthy of note, ending the day in 31st place overall (20th in Category T1) in a race they are competing for the first time and where the duo promises to continue to show service. 

Less fortunate in this starting day of the Spanish "European" Bajas race, Edgar Condenso/António Serrão couldn't avoid a puncture, which relegated the Ford EXR 05 that shows the colors of Consilcar to the 38th place in the general classification. Filipe Nascimento/Paulo Torres were in evidence, taking the DPR by PRK to the seventh place in category T3, 50th overall. 

With more than 220 kilometers on the clock, tomorrow's stage, the second last of this Baja España Aragon, will start at 6h00 a.m., with three 75 km (7h46) and 74,8 km (8h36) timed sections, divided by a neutralization (10 min), The podium ceremony will take place at 5:30 pm and the prize giving ceremony at 8:30 pm, once the results are confirmed, events that will take place at the organization's headquarters in Teruel.
